Closing Reception & Talk: Saturday, January 15, 2-5p.m.
Don’t miss the closing reception for this meaningful exhibit at Block 7 Wine Company that the Houston Chronicle anointed as the “Ultimate Event of the Week.” This exhibit builds on the momentum of Sherry Sullivan’s original “Stations of the Cross” paintings donation to Houston’s Casa Juan Diego.Mark and Louise Zwick, founders of Casa Juan Diego, will be on hand to discuss their house of hospitality serving immigrants, refugees and the poor, and their recently released book “Mercy Without Borders.”

…Â Charles Kirkwood, who now works directly with the Block 7 Wine Company’s high-end clients, seems to be in accord with Skopp, noting that Burgundy has been strong for him although even the less-heralded labels don’t come cheaply.
“They’re roughly 80 percent of our sales,” he estimates, while calling Houston one of the world’s biggest markets for Burgundy. “We’ll keep trying to push the envelope. We’ve tried to focus on varieties and regions that aren’t overly popular, and we’ll continue doing it. I’ll be looking at the white wines of Austria, the dry rieslings, the dry muscats and the grĂŒner veltliners, as we head toward summer.”
